Introduction to Research and Scholarly Communication. In-Person
This elective course consisting of 5 modules provides a solid foundation for designing research in clinical sciences and sharing research findings with healthcare scholars and providers. The course is built on the fundamental theories and concepts of information sciences and knowledge management. Attendees will learn to formulate a hypothesis or develop a research question for designing a study in clinical medicine or healthcare. The course discusses the methods and tools to review literature, manage citations, and collaborative writing. A component of the course is the course project to review the literature, identify research gaps, and design the research study. Learners will develop knowledge and skills in the literature review, academic writing, and ethics of scholarly communication. This course includes individual and active learning when reasoned by the course instructor.
